Sessions typically last 30 minutes to an hour. (Can often longer depending on the needs or wishes of the client).

You will be fully clothed and lying comfortably on a massage table. You will feel hands laid gently on or sometimes hovering slightly above your body, in a series of different positions.

You may notice heat from the hands of the person giving Reiki, sometimes the sensations are stronger in certain areas. There may be tingling, buzzing, or cool whisps of air gently gliding over your body.
Some see colors, hear messages, and many claim feeling extra sets of hands working on them. (*Several of my clients report pleasant visions and strong odors of roses that seem to amplify and fade away during treatment).

Quite a few fall asleep during sessions, or they may experience a huge uptake in their energy levels that can last for several days. Many are overcome with joy and extreme euphoric emotion; and tend to laugh/ cry or both yet don't fully understand why.

* Either way I believe this could be attributed to an emotional release. Usually, the result of clearing some type of mental or emotional trauma, which is indeed beneficial to the healing process.
